Winemaker's Notes

This is a wine of refined elegance, presenting an aromatic bouquet of violets and dried lavender with subtle accents of red fruit. The palate is layered with vibrant red berries and supported by finely textured, supple tannins. As the wine evolves in the glass, additional nuances emerge, underpinned by a distinct mineral character that reflects the granite-derived soils of the vineyard. While the emphasis is firmly on finesse rather than power, the wine possesses remarkable depth and persistence of flavour.

Sourced primarily from Stellenbosch and Paarl, with a supporting chorus of select vineyards across the Western Cape, this 2024 Cinsault captures the generosity of a standout vintage for red cultivars. The season delivered fruit of remarkable depth, yielding a wine that brims with vibrant colour and a palate framed by firm, grippy tannins—an expressive, structured take on this characterful variety.

Vinification

Harvested at 22–24° Balling, the grapes were guided through a steady eight-day fermentation at 25°C with gentle daily pump overs. Only the free-run juice was kept, completing malolactic in stainless steel. With no oak influence, the wine shows Cinsault in its purest, most vibrant form.
